Dýrðin @ Nordischer Klang, Griefswald, Germany 5. May 2009

Dýrðin @ Nordischer Klang
Upbeat indie popsters Dýrðin are to play the Nordischer Klang festival in Greifswald, Germany, on 9. May 2009. Nordischer Klang (English: Nordic Sound) is a major festival of Scandinavian culture, and a platform for artists from Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden to introduce themselves to the German public. The festival takes place in the north German city of Griefswald every year.
Dýrðin got together in 2004 and continue to play joyful indiepop in the vein of Icelandic nineties-favourites Bag of Joys and Texas Jesús. Their influences range from foreign greats such as Talulah Gosh and Heavenly to proto-punk bands like The Ramones and The Buzzcocks. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2006 to much critical acclaim by US label Skipping Stones Records.
